To discuss and deliver a scientific report on mechanisms of EV-mediated communication between hosts and pathogens/commensals. To undertake a theoretical discussion on the nature and origin of extracellular vesicles in different kingdoms and on how EVs can best be characterized in organisms in which they have not yet been studied.
